About Us

Italian Converter is a company that produces innovative fabrics and sustainable fabrics for the footwear, leather goods, clothing and furniture sectors.

Founded in 1994 as a textile converter, over the years the company has become a real industrial structure. Inside, there are entire production departments that, thanks to the strong know-how developed over the years and the best technologies, are developing products that are increasingly innovative.
We are distinguished by our Research and Development department and many years of experience in the field. This combination allows us to create and offer hybrid smart-tech innovations that arise from an alchemy of advanced finishes which can offer our customers unique and innovative products.

Our mission is to create fabrics that you want, that amaze your clients and captivate the general public.
For this reason we support the major national and international fashion houses, constantly creating unique and high-grade pieces.
Thanks to constant laboratory research on new materials and processes we have created and perfected the BISTRETCH technique, which allows us to create revolutionary fabrics, double-sided elastics that especially resilient and difficult to imitate.

How
Italian Converter was born

Italian Converter was born from Costantino Karazissis' passion for fabrics, a young staff member in the footwear sector who was looking to advance his professional life, feeling a need for change in the air.
Costantino represented large and small companies, travelling the world in search of new customers and opportunities.
He understood his customers' need to innovate. Loaded with new projects, he returned to the companies he represented eager to see them realized.
However, he was consistently faced with closed doors and disheartened entrepreneurs.
Tired of this situation, Costantino made a decision that would change his life: he decided to create his own company from scratch. He would aim at giving voice to change and seeing what most believed unachievable achieved. It was under this condition that, in 1994, Italian Converter was born.
